Breakthrough Developmental Services (BDS) is a première behavior health agency, headquartered in Maryland. Since our founding in 2007, we have motivated our clients to learn while having fun. BDS provides services to parents, organizations and people who want their student to become more successful and independent. Our caring team uses the principles of applied behavior analysis to teach an assortment of skills in the structured and natural environments. Each program we write is tailored to meet the needs of the person, or family, we are serving.

At BDS, we focus on working with people who have developmental, intellectual and learning disabilities working to teach the skills that are needed to gain more independence.

We are excited about the opportunity to bring on talented BCaBAs to help support our teams as part of our Behavior Support Staff (BSS). Each person we consider for a position must be dedicated to the growth and development of our clients and should believe that all people can be assisted towards learning new skills.

The BSS is responsible for:

  • Following the written treatment,
  • Collecting data,
  • Assisting with quarterly progress notes,
  • Attending team meetings,
  • Writing clinical contact notes,
  • Attending quarterly trainings, and
  • May have other duties as assigned.

Additionally, BCaBA level Behavior Support Staff will work with the BCBA to train and supervise the work of Registered Behavior Technicians and newer staff members as well as assisting in assessments and writing of plans.

We are looking for staff members to work with our clients throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia.

Behavior Technician

Our caring team uses the principles of applied behavior analysis to teach an assortment of skills in the structured and natural environments. Each program we write is tailored to meet the needs of the person, or family, we are serving.We are looking for talented staff members to work with our diverse group of established and loyal clients as Behavior Support Staff (BSS) team members. The BSS is responsible for:

  • Following the written treatment,
  • Collecting data,
  • Assisting with quarterly progress notes,
  • Attending team meetings,
  • Writing clinical contact notes,
  • Attending quarterly trainings, and
  • May have other duties as assigned.

You must be dedicated to the growth and development of the clients you are assigned to work with as their education and futures are a priority to us. The BSS may be assigned to work 1:1 clients in their home and community. There is the potential to work with small groups as well.We focus on working with people who have developmental, intellectual and learning disabilities. While the ages of our clients varies, with all clients the BSS will teach skills that are needed to gain more independence. Do you think you are the best person for this position?

We are looking for staff members to work with our clients throughout DC, Maryland and Virginia. You must have a high school diploma or equivalency to apply for this position. Those with an educational background in Human Services, Psychology, Education, Special Education or a closely related field are encouraged to apply. You must be certified in behavior analysis, or willing to complete the certification. The submission of your résumé and cover letter signifies your agreement to obtain the certification, if you do not already have it.

Your résumé and cover letter should address any experience that you have with people diagnosed with special needs; especially, experiences with people diagnosed with developmental, intellectual, or learning disabilities. Additionally, discuss your experience with behavior modification (ABA/VB), positive behavior support systems, or such other interventions along with information that addresses any training that you have received.

Occupational Therapist

Wage: Hourly Hours: Part-Time Details: Show

Breakthrough Developmental Services is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to help us make a difference in the lives of our clients. To be considered for this position, the candidate must be licensed to practice in Maryland and have experience working with pediatric clients. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience providing services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Qualifications:To be considered for this position, the candidate must be a licensure verified by Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities: In your resume and cover letter, you should address your experience and training working with people diagnosed with special needs. Specifically, discuss any professional experience working with people who have developmental disabilities and any training that you have received.

Speech-Language Pathologist

Wage: Hourly Hours: Part-Time Details: Show

Breakthrough Developmental Services is seeking a qualified pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to work with our clients throughout Maryland.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, the candidate must be a CCC-SLP and licensed in Maryland to practice. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience providing services to people with developmental disabilities and some experience with applied behavior analysis.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:
