World Autism Awareness Day 2010

Today is World Autism Awareness Day. It is currently estimated that 1 in 110 children will be diagnosed with Autism. The rate is higher for boys and currently estimated at 1 in 70.

Autism Speaks, a US based organization that is working to raise awareness of Autism, how it affect individuals, and how you can help.

Last night buildings around the word, including the Empire State Building, turned on blue lights in support of their campaign. Today, Autism Speaks has requested that people wear blue shirts to show their support.
