You all share passion for helping others that shines from within in you. I am impressed daily by your drive to learn more and do more. You are truly dedicated to making a difference and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of co-workers.

Family Training

Our Family Training program goes more in depth to help with your mindset, building community, and planning for your child’s future. We are going to help you erase thoughts like “My child can’t do that because…” and replace them with, “Here is how we can help my child succeed…”

We will show you ways to help maximize your child’s successes and teach you how to encourage your student to interact with others. Get ready to explore planning and goals setting for you and your child, discuss key challenges that your child faces and how we (you, your family, BDS and your child’s community) can help them with those challenges. We will talk about what motivates your child, current and future employment options, life transitions, and a host of other topics.

Meeting Day!

Today was meeting day! I had a chance to sit down in my office (and go out to lunch) today with Tammy Ferraco of T-Ten Services. Tammy is an old co-worker, longtime friend, and BCBA who provides services to children who have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities. We wanted to get together to work on the final touches for our part in the 2013 Children’s Festival taking place on April 13^th.

It is important to meet with people so that you can review information. Tammy and I both believe that meeting with your team members is the best way to make sure that you are all in accordance with each other and are staying true to the focus and goals of your program.

Wait… back up. Did you just say, what Children’s Festival? Well, Judah Temple AME Zion Church is having a Children’s Festival in Support of Autism Awareness Month. BDS and T-Ten wanted to lend our support by being on hand to provide attendees with information about Autism. We at BDS and T-Ten appreciate Judah Temple’s dedication to Autism acceptance and awareness and are eager to help support them.

You Asked… We Listened – The Waiver

The first group of pages are about Maryland’s Home and Community Based Waiver for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (also know as the Autism Waiver or the Waiver). BDS is closed – 03/06/2013

Good morning Parents,

Just a friendly reminder that BDS follows the PG County school system. Because the school system is closed, BDS is closed today. Technicians are not required to report in today and most have called out already due to unsafe weather conditions.
